Media Alert: The G8 Summit: Subject Africa; Presidential Hopeful Dan Imperato Comments on the G8 Summit and Their Dealings with Africa.
WEST PALM BEACH, FL, (NAMC) -Today, 2008 White House hopeful, Daniel Imperato, issued a statement regarding the G8 Summit and their dealings with Africa.
Imperato remarked, “While I have great respect for the G8 Summit and its participants, I believe that the principal issue once again, is what’s in it for the United States of America.” Imperato believes that debt forgiveness is an honorable cause however feels that the amount of debt forgiveness should be correlated to benefits received by each country who is forgiving the debt.
Currently Imperato is forming his own presidential exploratory committee to gauge support for a run at the White House in 2008. The committee, amongst other things, is evaluating major global issues that are going to play key factors in our future.
However, Imperato didn’t believe that debt relief was a quick and easy solution. “The main to the point question is what has happened to the past several billions of dollars given in aid to Africa in the past, and by forgiving their debt does that mean that they will start all over with new debt?” said Imperato.
The presidential exploratory committee, led by Imperato, has developed a strategy on the issue of African debt relief and released a small portion of their plan. Imperato, by himself, brings 30 years of global business expertise, dealing with foreign countries on business, religious, and political matters.
“Obviously the country who has forgiven the most should be in position to benefit the most from the forgiveness, and I’ll leave it at that, “commented Imperato, “furthermore the policing policy for the control and distribution of the last enormous sum of money, that obviously has not brought us to a successful present situation, needs to be analyzed to allow Africa to support itself with its growth. All I’m saying is we should look at this performance in the past and the policing of the distribution of funds and the structure of which future funds shall be allocated.”
During the statement, Imperato stressed the need for education and health care awareness within the region, along with policing the corruption. He pointed to those two key factors as determining the fate of the African people and ultimately being the root of many of their problems. Imperato said that healthcare education needed to be focused on AIDS, Malaria, and general nutrition while classroom education should focus on reading, writing, language, business opportunity and technology development.
As Imperato concluded the statement he remained optimistic on his approach to addressing some of the issues that the G8 will meet on this week, specifically pertaining to Africa.
Imperato finished by saying, “we need to take a bottoms-up approach, and I have a strategy for such, but again, we’ll keep it for my campaign. All in all, there are a lot of issues in the past that need to be revisited, analyzed, explained before you enter into a new environment where history just may repeat itself. I look forward to debating and explaining these issues at a later date.”
