Research in Motion Crosses Their Fingers
NEW YORK, NY, (NAMC) – As millions of BlackBerry users sit and wait to hear the fate of their little mobile wonders, Research in Motion (NASDAQ:RIMM) is now counting the minutes as they are set to appear in a Richmond, Virginia courtroom to hear their fate this morning.

The possibility of a vast BlackBerry shutdown is a definite reality as NTP is looking for retribution. It may not be the smartest move on behalf of NTP to allow this to happen, even though RIM has developed a backup plan but chances are they it will pale in comparison to the BlackBerry software that is utilized currently.

The time may have passed for a deal to fall into place but there may be hope if both NTP and RIM check their egos at the door and look at the bigger picture. If NTP receives a favorable verdict, they still lose and so does RIM, the only winners in that situation are Palm (NASDAQ: PALM), Motorola (NYSE: MOT) and now Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT).

These are the companies that hope for an NTP victory because it just opens up the door very wide for their business models.

We will issue an update as we receive word on the verdict.

Research in Motion closed at $69.53 on Thursday.
