LOS ANGELES, CA, (NAMC) According to reports Amazon.com (NASDAQ: AMZN) is in negotiations with three studios as they look towards offering digital movie and television show downloads.

This would be a fee-based service and will provide direct competition to the Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) iPod service. It seems that Amazon.com is working on adding additional services for their customers that adhere to a mobile lifestyle.

Amazon.com closed at $36.12 on Thursday.
