Mass High Tech Adds Tatara Systems Founder Asa Kalavade To Top Ten For 2007
SAN FRANCISCO, CA (NAMC) - The journal of New England technology Mass High Tech has named the founder and Chief Technology Officer of Tatara Systems, Dr. Asa Kalavade, as one of the "Women to Watch" in 2007.

Each year Mass High Tech profiles 10 women who represent the best and brightest in the technology arena within the New England area. The women are noted for their dedication to technology, civic responsibility and their  entrepreneurship.

This is a little about Asa Kalavade as issued by Tatara Systems:

Dr. Asa Kalavade has over 17 years of experience in the areas of wireless, multimedia services, and real-time embedded systems. Asa co-founded Tatara Systems in 2001 with the vision of the convergence of IP and mobile networks. This vision is realized in the Tatara Mobile Services Convergence Portfolio of products with marquee customers such as Vodafone, O2, Helio, Bell Mobility, and Telus Mobility and in Tatara’s leading position in the rapidly emerging femtocell market. Prior to Tatara, she was Vice President of Technology at Savos (acquired by Infospace), where she led the development and launch of the Media Crossbar Gateway for real-time streaming of audio over wireless networks.

Asa also spent several years at Bell Labs where she invented patent-pending technologies for wireless multimedia streaming, reconfigurable network interfaces, and real-time multiprocessor DSP systems. She is frequently invited to speak at a variety of international organizations, conferences, and universities. Asa has published several book chapters, in addition to numerous articles and journals. She holds 8 patents and received her MS and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences from the University of California at Berkeley.
