Non-Profits in California get a Boost for 2008 from Blue Cross
LOS ANGELES, CA (NAMC) - According to Blue Cross of California its associates have pledged $2,763.047.14 to support not- for-profit organizations in California for 2008. This is part of the company's Associate Giving Campaign.

Now if that wasn't good enough, the funds pledged by Blue Cross of California associates will also receive a 50 percent match from the WellPoint Foundation, the parent foundation of the Blue Cross of California Foundation, In short it brings the total funding number to $4,144,570.71 for 2008.

The hope is that this funding will assist various non-rpofits in California fullfill their intended goals but is just uynder $5 million enough?

Blue Cross is doing a great job but non-profits are definitely in need of more funding for their humanitarian projects in the United States, from rebuilding parts of Lousiana, Florida and California, that have seen their fair share of disasters, to providing affordable housing and food programs for those that are in need of it.

Hopefully more companies that are not involved in supporting non-profit organizations will soon begin to do so in 2008.
